This was one of the most unpredictable, exhausting, and rewarding shoots I’ve ever done. The DVC featured 5  celebrated musicians playing Pakistan’s National Anthem at a historic landmark in Lahore. Originally planned as a story-based visual, the shoot had to be improvised from scratch on the day due to heavy rainfall that destroyed over half our set plan.

With the team overwhelmed and the energy dipping, I quickly sketched a new set plan on the spot, pitched it, and led the transformation of a shaded corner into our new hero location. We built multiple looks within that one space using shifting prop placement, texture, and colors to keep every shot visually fresh, from solos to full ensemble shots. I also art directed a second large set with over 100 extras, hand-printed flags, draped fabrics, and a tented backdrop that carried traditional, festive energy.

Alongside all this, I also managed wardrobe styling for each musician, selecting pieces that reflected Pakistani identity while offering just the right contrast to stand out on camera. The palette took inspiration from local carpets: rich maroons, rusts, earthy greens, with subtle touches of brighter tones through accessories like shawls and chappals. From crisis to creation, this shoot tested everything — speed, patience, design, and resilience, and I’m genuinely proud of what we all pulled off.
