This short Islamic horror film was deeply personal for me. Rooted in the terrifying reality of black magic, it follows a young boy tormented by demonic forces, unraveling a dark conspiracy that has shattered his family. The horror in this film blends supernatural, gore, and atmospheric elements—crafted meticulously to unsettle and terrify.
As both the director and production designer, I knew exactly how I wanted the film to look and feel. I spent months creating mood boards, curating thousands of references, and designing every detail to build an immersive, haunting world. Having personally experienced black magic, I drew from real-life horror to shape the unsettling atmosphere, making sure every location, color, and visual cue heightened the terror.
Tackling Islamic horror came with the challenge of deciding what to reveal and what to leave for the audience to interpret. Despite last-minute changes and on-set improvisations, the film came together seamlessly, thanks to an incredible team. I played heavily with red herrings and a lizard’s perspective to distort reality, making the audience feel the overwhelming dread of something truly evil lurking nearby.
I'm most proud of three key moments: the grotesque vomiting scene, the chilling black magic ritual, and the boy’s possession—each one designed to leave a lasting, terrifying impact. My goal was to make the horror feel real, to make people uncomfortable, and to remind them that these dark forces exist. And I achieved exactly that.
